Breast reconstruction is the surgical process of reconstructing breast defects after breast cancer treatment surgery. Involves multiple stages which may take up to 9-12 months to complete. Is covered by insurance. Recovery depends on the stage and type of reconstruction.
Breast Reduction
Down sizes and lifts the breasts to help reduce neck and back pain and uncomfortable rashes. May be covered by insurance requires about 3- 6 weeks recovery.
Breast Augmentation
Enhances the size of the breasts can help minor drooping. New cohesive silicone gel implants allow for more natural result. Is not covered by insurance. Requires about 2-4 weeks recovery
Breast Lift
Reshapes the breasts by removal of excess skin – sometimes is combined with breast augmentation Is not covered by insurance Requires 2-4 weeks recovery.
Abdominoplasty
Recontours the abdomen by removing excess skin and fat, may also include tightening loose muscles – sometimes is combined with breast surgery Usually not covered by insurance Requires 4-6 weeks recovery.
