“Dr. Bowen to you and your team…had to share a smile today. I spent about two hours washing my hair today, de-scabbing all the dried spots, brushed on a little foundation and eye makeup and stood standing at the mirror endlessly. I know there’s still some swelling and bruising to move through, but I had the biggest tears of satisfaction as I looked at a younger me staring back…..honestly I can’t even describe what I saw and felt. It really does feel life changing for me; I know that’s selfish when others are moving through such pain in their surgeries in order to simply be healthy going forward….but as a gift to myself and making me the best I can ever hope to be inside and out…..I would do this again in a heartbeat.
